Seven-day (Saturday to Saturday) reservations may be made online. Daily rentals (3-day minimum) must be made by phone. Tentative reservations are taken by phone. To confirm, we must receive your deposit within 10 days. A $40 non-refundable reservation fee applies to all rentals.

RENTAL GUIDELINES

We want your vacation on the Island to be relaxing and stress free. The following information is provided to help you in making your reservation.


MAKING A RESERVATION!

• Call us toll free 888-707-6444. Monday thru Saturday!
• Check out our properties online, chose your favorite, check for availability and reserve online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

RESERVATIONS

• Summer Seasons: All homes rent weekly, from Saturday to Saturday.
• Off-Season: Some homes will do 3 and 4-day minimums.
• Monthly Rentals are available in the Off-Season.
• Condominiums: Some units are flexible with weeks/ daily rentals. Give us a call!

CHARGES

All reservations are charged a $25 processing fee, a cleaning and linen fee, and 11% lodging tax on the rent. Travel insurance is optional and is 7% of the base rent. Renters can choose to pay a refundable $500 damage deposit or purchase the nonrefundable damage waiver for $45. There is a $25 cancellation fee on all reservations.

FURNISHINGS

All homes and condos are privately owned and the furnishing and decor will reflect the owners tastes and are subject to change. Your home or condo will include the following:

Bed linens, towels, and pillows, kitchen items, a start-up supply of paper products and soap,
washer and dryer, air conditioning, dishwasher, telephone.

RENTAL PAYMENT, DAMAGE WAIVER, AND TRAVEL INSURANCE.

Damage Waiver and Travel Insurance are new to our rental program. Please take the time to read over the following information.

RENTAL PAYMENT

* AT TIME OF BOOKING, OR WITHIN 7 DAYS, A minimum payment OF $500 AND THE RESERVATION FEE ($25) ARE DUE.

* IF YOU CHOSE TO PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE, IT IS DUE AT THE TIME OF MAKING YOUR RESERVATION.

• ONE HALF OF RENT IS DUE 45 DAYS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL.
• IF PURCHASING TRAVEL INSURANCE, THE FULL BALANCE MUST BE PAID 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE
• WE ACCEPT CASH, PERSONAL CHECKS (21 DAYS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL), TRAVELER’S CHECKS, CERTIFIED CHECKS, VISA, MASTERCARD, AND DISCOVER.
• ALL LATE ARRIVALS MUST PAY IN ADVANCE.
• PAYING IN ADVANCE DOES SPEED UP THE CHECK-IN PROCESS.
Non-refundable $25 reservation processing fee is charged for all reservations.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We are now offering TRIP CANCELLATION insurance, which is provided by Travel Guard. This policy is the “All Season’s Travel Plan”. We strongly advise you to consider this insurance, as it will protect your vacation due to delays such as illness, medical emergencies, hurricanes and other severe weather, delayed flights, lost luggage, troubles that can occur when you least expect.

You may contact Travel Guard at 877-249-5376 - 24 hours a day.

Travel insurance will be added to your reservation. (7% of Total Rent) If you chose not to take the coverage you will have to sign on your guest license agreement to verify that you are opting out. If you decline the rental insurance this may affect your right to a refund.

SECURITY DAMAGE DEPOSIT OR ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE RENTAL INSURANCE?

As in previous years you may pay a $500 security damage deposit . This deposit will go into our escrow account. This is refundable after the unit is inspected and is refunded by check within 30 days of departure.
If you do not wish to pay a $500 security damage deposit you may purchaseDamage Rental Insurance.” This should not be confused with Travel Insurance. This damage insurance policy of $1,500 will cover you and your family for unintentional damage. This does not cover intentional damage, smoking, unauthorized entry into owners closet, any excessive cleaning to property, or pet damages. Any intentional damages will be the responsibility of the renter. The fee is $45 and is non-refundable.

CONFIRMATION

You will receive a confirmation by e-mail unless you request US mail. Upon receipt of confirmation, please verify:
• Arrival/departure dates
• Reserved Unit
• Rental amount due
• Number of Occupants

OCCUPANCY

*All properties are limited to actual sleeping capacity shown. The number of people vary by property - please refer to the property listing. Singles must be 25-years of age or older. No sororities, fraternities, house parties, or weddings are allowed. Identification must be furnished upon request.

Reservations made under false pretense may be subject to loss of rent and eviction. We strive to maintain a quiet atmosphere for all guests in surrounding accommodations. Any violation of the above, are grounds for eviction and forfeiture of rent and deposit.

Check in is 3:00 pm or after. Some properties may need extra cleaning and check-in can be delayed. We ask for your patience. Please contact our office if you will arrive after 5:00 pm.
Check out by 10:00 am…PLEASE…no exceptions in the busy season.

GENERAL INFO

• Motor home or travel trailer hook-ups are not allowed.
• Locked owners closets are not included in your rental.
• Fireworks are prohibited by local ordinance.
• No fires on beaches.
• No motorized vehicles on beaches
• All homes are non-smoking. You may smoke on decks and outside, but we ask that you close all doors going into property and dispose of "evidence" properly.
• Occasionally a home will come on the market for sale. Our office will contact you to set up an appointment for the showing at a time convenient for you.

PETS

Pets are not permitted in most of our rental properties. Some homes are dog-friendly.
There are certain rules we ask that you must abide if you bring your dog to the Island:
• Dogs must be up to date on all shots
• Dogs must be under a pest management system for fleas and ticks.
• Do not allow your dog on furniture.
• Please ensure that your dog does not chew on furniture or other items.
• Please clean up after your dog. Children like to walk and play in the sand.
• There is a leash law on Dauphin Island.

*We make every effort to maintain our rental properties. However repairs may be necessary during your stay and we will do our best to handle them as quickly as possible.
No rent refunds will be made for mechanical failures or power outages.

INTERNET

Most of our rental properties have courtesy high speed DSL and/or wifi. Internet connections on the Island are generally good, but Dauphin Island Real Estate Inc. cannot assume responsibility, and will offer no refunds for outages that may occur.

DEPARTURE

Please dispose of all trash in outside containers (take garbage containers to the street the night before garbage service). A fee of $25 will be charged for garbage that is not taken to the street for pick-up. Leave kitchen items clean and returned to proper location. Lock doors and windows. Remove bed linens and start a load if possible. In general, just leave the unit tidy. All keys must be returned to our office. Excessive cleaning will be charged to the renter at a rate of $50 per hour.

CANCELLATIONS, DATE CHANGES, AND PROPERTY CHANGES


If less than minimum notice is given, your advanced payment will be forfeited to the property owner. If property is rebooked, it must be for the full rental amount. If travel insurance was purchased you may qualify for a refund.
30 days for minimum notice for condominium rentals
45 days minimum notice for house rentals
90 days minimum notice for monthly rentals

PROPERTY AVAILABILITY

Should for any unforeseen circumstance your rental property becomes unavailable, we will contact you immediately to discuss alternatives either with Dauphin Island Real Estate or with another Rental Agency.

DESOTO LANDING, SANDCASTLE CONDOS, DAUPHIN ISLAND BEACH CLUB, THE INN AT DAUPHIN ISLAND, HOLIDAY ISLE AND AUDUBON PLACE HAVE SEPARATE RENTAL AGREEMENTS AND RULES. RENTERS AGREE TO ABIDE BY REGULATIONS IN THESE AREAS

REFUNDS

• Refunds are issued for cancellations outside of the cancellation date range.
• Please call or email the rental desk for all cancellations.
• The reservation fee and cost of insurance are not refundable
• If you have purchased trip insurance you may qualify for a refund through Travel Guard.

Linens ( sheets & towels ) are provided, but you will need to bring beach towels and beach chairs. Also needed are soaps, detergents, paper products, and trash bags.

HURRICANE POLICY:
If the Island is put under a mandatory evacuation we will refund for the days not used. This refund will be mailed to you by check.

GUESTS HAVE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES DUE TO MISUSE, NEGLIGENCE, OR MISSING ITEMS. EACH HOME IS INSPECTED AFTER DEPARTURE.

ADVERTISING ERRORS: Errors on this website or on the reservation forms concerning a rental propery and its amenities are subject to change without notice.

DAUPHIN ISLAND REAL ESTATE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURIES OR ACCIDENTS THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE GUESTS ARE OCCUPYING THE SAID PROPERTY OR FOR ANY THEFT OR DAMAGE TO PERSONAL ITEMS IN UNIT DURING OCCUPANCY.


TENTATIVE RESERVATIONS:
During your visit you may stop by the office and make reservations for next year! Not on Saturdays PLEASE. These reservations are subject to rate change and availability.

We will take reservations for the 2011 season but rates are not guaranteed.


Grocery Stores are located on Interstate 10 at exit 17B (Tillman's Corner exit...about 30 minutes from the Island) and Greer's Old Bay Market at Fowl River...about 15 minutes north on Hwy. 193.

Directions to Office from interstate 10:
Take Exit 17-A to Dauphin Island ( well marked - approximately 29 miles ). Upon arrival to the Island, proceed to water tower and 3-way stop (main intersection). Turn right and go exactly one mile. Our Office is located on the right.


 
FISHING

All anglers over the age of 16 must purchase an Alabama Saltwater Fishing License. To purchase a license, call the Alabama Marine Resources Division (251) 861-2882. Their website, has a saltwater fishing license cost schedule chart.
