To promote
and develop tourism in South Mobile County the South Mobile
County Tourism Authority has provided a limited supply of free
tickets to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab Estuarium and Fort Gaines on Dauphin
Island, and Bellingrath Gardens and Home in Theodore. These tickets
are obtained when you rent a vacation home or condo on Dauphin Island.
The rental must be between December 1 and January 31, 2012. Tickets
are made available on a first come/first served basis while supplies
last.
Celebrating
Christmas in South Mobile County
Dauphin Island, AL - November 29, 2011 - South Mobile
County rings in the Christmas season by celebrating some long-held traditions
and creating some new ones. One example is the 27th annual "Christmas
Through the Ages" from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on December 3 at historic
Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island. The event is a "period celebration
of Christmas as it was", complete with blacksmith, potters, candle
dippers and soldiers. A bonus attraction at this year's event will be
the opportunity to have children and family photos taken with Santa
from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. (a nominal charge applies).
The
holiday traditions continue as Bellingrath Gardens and Home
in Theodore celebrates "Magic Christmas in Lights" through
December 31. Stroll through over 3 million sparkling lights and over
950 displays throughout the 65-acre garden estate. The Bellingrath Home
is decorated in its holiday finery and poinsettias encompass the Gardens.
Nightly choral performances are held on the South Terrace of the Bellingrath

This
year, event coordinators have added a new flavor to the musical entertainment
with a performance by Roman
Street on
December 9 at 6 p.m. Roman Street is a popular local band from
Mobile, Ala which specializes in creating a worldly fusion of flamenco
and jazz. The guitarists of Roman Street have incorporated
their international training and travels into their unique musical sound.
Roman Street combines traditional and modem musical elements
to create a one-of-a-kind sound that appeals to audiences of all ages.
Roman Street's Christmas music blends elements of their exotic music
into classical Christmas melodies known and loved by all.
To promote
and develop tourism in South Mobile County and to help stimulate the
area economy, the South Mobile County Tourism Authority will provide
a limited supply of free tickets to Dauphin Island Sea Lab Estuarium
and Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island, and Bellingrath Gardens and Home
in Theodore to visitors who rent condos or houses on Dauphin Island
from a participating Dauphin Island rental lodging agency and stay for
at least two nights, arriving for check in between December 1, 2011
and January 31, 2012. Each set of free attractions tickets represents
a $33 value, based on adult admission charges at the participating attractions
and will be made available on a first come/first served basis while
supplies last.

Estuarium at Dauphin Island Sea Lab: A $28 Value!
The Estuarium is the public aquarium of the Dauphin Island
Sea Lab, Alabama's marine education and research institution. Using
the Sea Lab's wealth of marine science knowledge and experience, the
Estuarium has developed into one of the premier aquariums of the Gulf
Coast. In this exciting facility, visitors explore the four key ecosystems
of coastal Alabama: the Delta, Mobile Bay, the Barrier Islands and the
Gulf of Mexico. The Estuarium features interactive displays, a great

Gaines have guarded the entrance to Mobile Bay for more

of the bay and Gulf of Mexico. Includes a Civil War museum, working
blacksmith and gift shop.
